Over the last 2 weeks i've been in heated discussion with CS over my approved clan flag that was lost in the old forum system. I have been getting increasingly stressed as it takes forever for them to get back to me. Anyway, my resubmission has been rejected, so i'm back to square 1. The fact is that quality has been going up since the days of the old forum, and flags that would have been accepted may now be rejected. Anyway, what really takes the biscuit is that today one of their CSs (a wankerly Kevin Tatroe, FYI) told me that he has "looked through the old forum" (which they assured me before was lost) and says that my flag was never accepted. This is a blatant lie. I am absolutely without a shadow of a doubt that it was accepted. After all it was our agreed clan flag and i would not have rested until it was accepted. I am this close | | to mailing him back with a torrent of abuse, but i think i will have to restrain myself and take these steps: 1) Ask any of you guys who know how to make a flag look as it now has to so it can be accepted, to have a try at it. But please don't change the design, just the effects / saturation etc. Here are two copies: 2) Wait for the day when i finally leave PotBS so that i can blame my departure on that little wanker of a CS who has called me a liar.

Hey Turwhitt - I got this flag accepted for my family on Rackham: www.burningsea.com/pages/page.php?pageKey=uc/viewItem&item_id=18429Of course this was after having the same design rejected. After that all I did was add this cloth texture which can be found near the bottom of the page: www.burningsea.com/pages/page.php?pageKey=uc/viewItem&item_id=18429Except what I think really got it approved in the end was the fact I muted the colors. My white were too white and my blacks were too black. So I took the dropper tool and actually sampled the jolly roger from the old N.C. Wyeth paintings for Treasure Island and bam - 'twas approved. So I would just sample your reds, blacks, and whites from an old painting. I think, beyond design, weathering seems to be the de facto standard for flag approval these days. Anyway - I am off to fly in some hellish weather. Cheers.

Trench, that second link is the same as the first, so i can't locate the cloth texture you're referring to.

For the comments people left on your design, what did they say? Did they give any feedback why they didn't like it? Usually when it isn't accepted they'll tell you why. At least they did for me. But I'm thinking it might look a little too 3D, and the colors might be a little too pure. The red, black and white couldn't be done that perfectly in the era. Not to mention the weather would turn that white into a gray in no time at all. I'll play around with it, though, and see what I can come up with. Shouldn't be too difficult.

It is creating a link, but there's a ":" in the link so it stops it there. Anywoo, here's what I came up with... What I did: -Toned down the black, white and red to make them look less pure -Removed most of the light grays, they were giving the design a "3D" feel -Added a different cloth texture (I think it looks a little bit more "real") -Replaced some gray parts with white and/or black -Added some weathering (not that this is why your design was rejected, but a little weathering never hurts)
