Judging by the amount of changes being made to Engineers, i'd have to conclude that the class is currently quite broken.

I have put my engineer on ice while I concentrate on a squig herder. He did indeed feel a little broken to me.
The squig herder and the greenskin environs are fun.

Ahh,
it sounds too good to be true, you can actually play a Gobbo Squig hurder.
I'm not starting up in WAR, but i love the warhammer world, so might find myself there befreo long.
I have a Dark Elf Army and an Orc and Goblin army for the table top version of the game. Do you control armies in War or just lone characters?

Ahh, Do you control armies in War or just lone characters? ah mate! You control your one character but RvR (Realm v Realm) is awesome at times. Your fight as a warband or several warbands against Empire or Destro in open RvR, assaulting keeps with battering rams whilst your opponent's defend it with boiling oil, organ guns, cannons, balista's etc. The main RvR battle is fought over 4 map levels in 8 map pairings (2 per level) for each of the 4 races (Dwarf, Elf, Human, Greenskin) when either side captures all 4 of the racial T4 levels there is a battle for the main Fortresses which link through to the Main Cities themselves: currently Atdorf (empire) and the Inevitable city (Destro) at which point a huge battle for the cities and teh endgame victory commences for several hours with loot and special rewards to the victors. The defeated capital city then loses several levels (up to 5) which it has gained over time. Guilds are amazingly well thought out too. They leve; opening access to leader banners which give buffs, guild tavern with increasing facilities and guild emblems on cloaks etc. On top of that quests, instanced rvr by way of scenarios you can join at the click of a button and instanced PvE dungeons for pfat loot etc. Character development is interesting as well as you have to manage normal levelling experience and Renoun that gives access to special RvR buffs and weps. Plus armour sets to collect, instanced open field PvE scenartios giving special rewards on completion by loose groups passing in the field and joining in..

No VC in WAR yet though.... Honestly, if you are an Old World fan and want to play WAR for that reason, i think you may be disappointed. It's more of a DaoC set in a fantasy world game. I can't say that i feel very much in the warhammer world. It's just not mediaeval enough.

Hmm well, not disappointed as such, because i know MMO developers just don't make sandbox games any more. So i didn't expect it to live up to my expectations.
I like some aspects - the scenarios are good fun but, let's be honest, all you really do is run to one point or other, and try to do as much damage to an enemy as you can before you die. The graphics are nothing special, although i do like the fact that each race's area is distinctive. Missions are pretty standard for all MMOs now - go somewhere and talk to someone, or go somewhere and kill something. The public quests are a nice addition, but tend to end up as either a) you have enough people to do it and it's easy or b) You don't have enough and it's impossible. I haven't done a proper RvR war yet, and from what you say they may be a whole new kettle of fish. But i get the impression that i'm probably not going to be able to do that until i'm a bit bigger. I have enjoyed doing quests with you, but that's more to do with the fact that group questing is always fun, than that the actual quests are fun. Solo questing is, to be honest, boring.
So no i'm not going to ditch it. But after only a few sessions, i'm not feeling that "must play it" feeling that i have had from other games. And i am feeling that way about Fallout 3!
So don't give up on me. I'll be back, but not until after a good crack on Fallout 3.

Same here, so many games came out but I knew that Fallout 3 was the one I was going to get above all others. Very immersive on a 42". And I love the fact that you actually grow up in the Vault this time. I am extremely grateful it is not as hard as Fallout 2! Heh, my wife is so deep in here veterinary schoolbooks right now that she has forgotten that Lich King comes out at midnight - think I just let her forget until the weekend so I can wander the post apocalyptic wasteland of D.C. some more. Was thrilled that Falls Church was a subway stop since I went to High School there for a time. Not much has changed.

Damned hard and unforgiving though isn't it? Well i'm not that far through so maybe i'm not the best judge. But it seems to me that there is always a "sneaky way" past most hard situations. For example, at that Super-Duper Mart one where you have to go and get some food and medical supplies, the med supplies bit is hard. There are about 10 bandits in that area, and if you go in gung-ho then you will get killed probably. But if you sneak around the side, hack the computer and reactivate the guard droid then it will walk around the building frying all the bandits for you. I'm also told that the sniper-explosives build is a good one. You can lay mines while sneaking and then retreat to a sniping position. If you get charged by the tougher enemies then they will fall foul of your minefield.

It's great Heff, you won't be disappointed. I'm totally immersed in it.
Seems to be huge as well. Half of the missions appear to be simple but then draw you in to a scenario that sometimes takes hours to complete.
Some really cool weapons, especially the schematic ones that you craft yourself.
