I know Steve for one was interested in my opinion of this game, so here is my mini review:
It's a great story (until the end) with an interesting premise which has given me some fun real-life thinking to do. Basically, the concept is that the memories of your ancestors are passed down to you through your DNA, in the same way as instincts are passed down to animals in their DNA.
It looks great, and does as good a job of bringing the Holy Land to life as if can with current technology.
The cities are full of people and the buildings look great. If i had to fault this, i'd say that there is too much repetition with the sideline activities (saving innocent citizens).
At first the controls seem really fussy, but when you get used to them it's pretty free-flowing and you can find yourself moving and fighting like a ninja pretty quickly. It's not very hard to master and, apart from a couple of fights towards the end, there should be nothing that stops your average gamer for long.
I can't see how much replay value there would be, as there is only a single, straight main storyline and sideline activities are not involved enough to grab you.
The music and sound is pretty good, although i always get annoyed with historical or fantasy games where the characters have modern US accents. I would have done the voice-overs for free!
The game seemed quite short and, although the main storyline was a good one, the end was entirely unsatisfying and basically says "you'll have to buy the next game to have any closure at all".
So my scores are:
Graphics 9
Sound 8
Gameplay 8
Value 6
Would i recommend you to buy it? No
Would i recommend you to download it? Absolutely!
